Statistics disk space

Many of us know the system utility to collect disk usage statistics. For those who do not know they are accessed with the mandate GO MENU (DISKTASKS)

With them we can plan for collecting disk usage data (mandate RTVDSKINF ) because the process usually takes hours, and printing of reports of data collected (mandate PRTDSKINF ), with various levels of detail.

The most common is to plan the collection of data on disk occupancy per week (or month) during the weekend (for example), with the option 1. collect disk space information, and print the report the following Monday.

When planning the system will add an entry in the job scheduler called QEZDKWKMTH , we can do with the mandate WRKJOBSCDE JOB (QEZDK *).

QEZDKWKMTH work records data in file QUSRSYS / QAEZDISK not be confused with the same file in the QSYS library because it is empty. Every time you set the clean QEZDKWKMTH work before you start, the file QAEZDISK, the QUSRSYS, to insert new data into the next execution.
